St. Pat's Day

1. Happy Birthday Harold!

2. Happy St Patrick's Day to everyone who reads this!

3. Just some thoughts.

I saw on the news today that some people think March 17th should be renamed Shamrock Day to take the religious aspect from the day and be more politically correct. Give me a break!

I watched one of my favorite groups, Celtic Woman, on PBS last night. They are such beautiful ladies, with angelic voices and gorgeous gowns! And the drummers are pretty cool! I often watch their videos on youtube. I love so many of their songs, but think I like "The Voice" the best. I would love to see their concert in person, but last time I checked their schedule they didn't have any performances in Texas. Any other fans out there?

The Irish have given us so much. There are so many Irish sayings, blessings, music & images. And then there is green beer or whiskey, which I think I'll pass on. :o)

Legend is that St Patrick used the 3-leaved shamrock to explain the Holy Trinity to pre-Christian Irish.

Now I wonder how the 4-leaved clover became a symbol of good luck. And where did the leprechauns come from? What is the Blarney Stone? Why do we pinch those not wearing green? Guess I'll have to Google those questions.

In the meantime.......
Wishing you a rainbow
For sunlight after showers—
Miles and miles of Irish smiles
For golden happy hours—
Shamrocks at your doorway
For luck and laughter too,
And a host of friends that never ends
Each day your whole life through!
